Starting Saturday, March 21, DART Paratransit will no longer be accepting cash or tickets.  Customers will be billed for their trips at a later date.  Customers are encouraged to use DART Pass, the mobile app to pay their fare.  See Mobile App for more information.  Thank you.

Expect some changes on Delaware highways and at Delaware motor vehicle offices as the state moves to address the spread of coronavirus.

Delaware's three toll plazas will no longer have workers to collect cash payments, according to a Monday afternoon news release from the Department of Transportation.Instead, all traffic will be directed through the EZPass lanes and drivers without EZPass will get a bill in the mail for the toll. The bill will have no penalty or processing fee.

DelDOT Operational Changes Update for March 21

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) continues to review operational needs while keeping the health and safety of our employees and customers in mind.

In light of our current situation, a primary election will be held in the state on April 28th.  Although the polls will be open, people may still be advised not to go out for this type of activity, but they can vote using an absentee ballot.  In order to vote by absentee ballot, they need to request a ballot ASAP but no less than 30 days prior to the election….so that means this week.

Starting March 16th at 8pm, we are limiting Delaware restaurants, taverns and bars to take-out and delivery service only to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus. We’re also banning public gatherings of 50 or more people, consistent with updated guidance from the CDC, and closing gaming activity at Delaware casinos. 

We understand members are struggling during this crisis. Many businesses have closed or have significantly reduced their hours. As of March 19th, the Co-op has decided to temporarily waive late fees for members who are having trouble paying their bills. Disconnects for non-payment have also been temporarily stopped...

Dollar General announced plans to dedicate the first hour of every business day to senior shoppers, as well as change store operating hours beginning March 17, 2020. Starting Tuesday, Dollar General is strongly encouraging that the first hour of operations each day be dedicated solely for the shopping needs of senior customers, who are one of the groups most vulnerable to the COVID-19 coronavirus. Dollar General wants to provide these at-risk customers with the ability to purchase the items they need and want at the beginning of each day to avoid busier and more crowded shopping periods.

CHEER, Inc. has begun an Essential Grocery Shopping Program to aid senior citizens during the COVID-19 State of Emergency in Sussex County.
